Your dog can learn that you always come back.
A spare phone or laptop becomes the camera in the room. It watches for the first signs of stress, tells you when to come back, and sizes tomorrow's session from today's. Every absence ends calm, so your dog learns that alone time is safe.

How it works
A camera in the room, so every absence ends calm
Step 1
Pair a camera in 60 seconds
Prop up a spare phone, or open toodles.dog/cam on a laptop, and enter the code from your phone. No extra hardware.
Step 2
Train with short absences while it watches
Each session is a short, planned absence. The camera listens and watches for restlessness, whining and pacing, and shows you how your dog is doing.
Step 3
Come back on time, before the tipping point
When the signs build, you get "Come back now". You walk in calmly, the session ends on a good note, and tomorrow's step is sized from what happened today.
Calm and quiet. Keep going, the step is working.
Some restlessness. Stay ready and finish soon.
The signs are building. Walk in calmly, no fuss.
The camera
Know when to come back
Your spare phone or laptop watches your dog, so every absence ends on a calm note.
Signal, one session (sample)
max of movement, soundEarly warning
Settled, Watch and Come back now, from movement and sound levels, so you return before panic sets in.
Live peek
Glance at the room from your phone during a session if you choose to. Off unless you turn it on.
Nothing recorded
The camera sends signal levels, not audio or video. Nothing is stored after the session.
Monitor mode, free
The old phone in your drawer is the camera.
Leaving for real? Monitor mode watches your dog while you're out. Always free.
An old iPhone, an Android phone or a laptop browser all work as the camera. The free plan includes a 3-session baseline check that estimates your dog's threshold, the departure-cue drill, your dog's profile, and Monitor mode.
Why gradual works
Calm practice teaches calm
Separation anxiety is panic, not naughtiness. Every time a dog is left past the point they can cope, they rehearse that panic, and it gets a little stronger.
The method trainers use is called systematic desensitisation. You practise absences that stay just below your dog's tipping point, so each one ends calm. Bit by bit, being alone becomes ordinary, and the calm window grows.
The hard part is knowing where that point is. That is what the camera is for.
Honest about effort
Most dogs need weeks to months. Small steps are the fast way.
- 1Short sessions, most days, a few minutes each.
- 2A step back after a hard day is part of the plan, not a failure.
- 3Progress is measured in calm minutes, so you can see it build.
Progress curve
Sample planEstimate, not a promise. Every dog learns at their own pace.
What you get
Everything you need to train alone time
An adaptive plan
Absences grow when your dog is ready and shrink after a hard day. No guessing at the next step.
Absence planner

Progress curve
See calm minutes build week by week, with honest milestones along the way.

Questions
Good to know
Is Toodles a medical treatment?+
No. Toodles is training support, not veterinary advice. It helps you run calm, gradual alone-time practice. If your dog's distress is severe, or you think there is a medical cause, please talk to your vet or a certified behaviourist.
What device do I need?+
Your own phone runs the plan, and a second device acts as the camera in the room: a spare iPhone or Android phone with the app, or any laptop with a webcam using toodles.dog/cam in the browser.
Does it record my dog?+
No. The camera turns sound and movement into simple signal levels on the device and sends only those numbers. There are no audio or video recordings. Peek snapshots are optional, only sent during a session, and deleted when the session ends.
How long does it take?+
Most dogs need weeks to months. Small steps are the fast way: sessions that end calm build confidence, while long absences that tip into panic set training back. Your plan adjusts to how your dog is actually doing.
Can I cancel?+
Yes, anytime. Web subscriptions can be cancelled from your account page. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled in your phone settings. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Is there a money-back guarantee?+
Yes, for web purchases: if Toodles isn't right for you, email us within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund it. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded by Apple or Google under their own policies.
Does it work for puppies?+
Yes. With puppies the steps are short and easy, and the goal is prevention: teaching early that being alone is calm and ordinary, before worry has a chance to build.
What if my dog hurts themselves when left alone?+
Please talk to your vet or a certified behaviourist before you start. For some dogs, medication prescribed by a vet makes training possible. Keep steps very small, and avoid leaving your dog alone for longer than they can cope with while you train.
